My name is Betsy. I am a wife, mother and photographer.
What makes my world go round is giving people photos they are “over the moon, can’t wait to share with everyone” excited about, but my other favorite part of photography is getting to know people – you! I am fascinated with what makes your story unique. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, I love to take time to really listen to my clients. This passion transfers right to your images: I capture real emotion and vibrant, true-to-life moments.
The most rewarding feedback I get from my clients is that our time together was relaxing and fun, and as a result the images are not awkward or staged. I will do anything so you enjoy yourself in front of my camera – ridiculous laser sounds included! (pew, pew, pew!) ** if you have worked with me before, that was for you!
I grew up in Loup City, Nebraska – a small town of under 1,000 people. I’ve always been “artsy” and just a little bit quirky. As a kid I always loved to create and could often be found drawing, watching a good sci-fi movie, or playing with my parent’s camera. I moved to the Twin Cities for college, but I cherish my “small-town” upbringing. I’m definitely the kind of girl who would rather be enjoying a backyard barbeque with friends than a fancy night out on the town.
I live with my incredible husband Pete and our daughter Grace. Pete and I met in college where we both studied Computer Science – nerds and proud of it! I enjoyed my time as an engineer, but soon found that spending my days making photographs, being creative, and working with so many great people made me very happy. Grace was born in 2013, and she’s the coolest kid on the planet. Life is pretty exciting with a toddler, so I value each and every moment that I have with my family and friends: enjoying breakfast at our favorite diner, Fat Nat’s Eggs, having friends over to play Ticket to Ride, or reading books with Grace.
