Kelsey and Alex had the most perfect day for an outdoor wedding at the Woods Chapel with reception at Lafayette Club. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple – the day was filled with so much love I had a tough time narrowing down the images because there were so many sweet moments to show. A big thank you to my friend Rita with Premier Planning Services for once again, pulling off an insanely gorgeous event!
If I remember correctly, the jewelry pictured was Kelsey’s grandmothers!
An emotional “first look” with Kelsey’s father…
… and another with Alex!
Lookin’ good my friend!
Kelsey is so pretty and has one of the best smiles.
And the award for best photo ever goes to my amazing assistant – cute overload with the flower girls and ring bearer!
Kelsey and her grandmother – such a sweet moment!
… and below – such a beautiful spot for the processional!
The bridal party celebrated on a boat from Woods to Lafayette – on the most perfect evening ever.
The periwinkle blue polka-dot linen has to be my favorite of all time! :)
The first dance was a super cute choreographed dance, with a little sass!
And some arty pics of R Factor!
A big thank you to everyone who dedicated their talents to making this beautiful event come together!

Katie and Kevin! I just adore this couple, and this entire day from start to finish was perfection. A big thank you to Sarah Trotter with Lasting Impressions – everything this girl does turns out incredible. Team Sarah + pretty much the nicest couple ever equals a really great day for all! We started the day getting ready at Katie’s childhood home, ceremony at St. Hubert Catholic Church, and reception at Bearpath Country Club.
We really couldn’t get enough photos of the flower girl.
Katie has the cutest smile, doesn’t she?
I am pretty much obsessed with this black and white picture. Promise me you will frame this one?! :)
The guys, looking very dapper…
The above picture of Katie’s dad cracks me up! One of my favorites from that day. Ha!
I had a great time spying on Katie and Kevin during the ceremony. Lots of smiling and whispering happening over there. You two! ;)
My assistant is getting really good at venue shots. I think the below is such a beautiful picture!
Vivid color is my thing, and I just loved the preppy/nautical spin on the reception! High fives, Sarah!
So what you can’t see in photos, is that this was probably the hottest, muggiest wedding day I have ever been a part of. So much so, when walking outside my lenses would fog up! Everyone involved were such great sports about this, and pulled it together for pics.
We had some of the most beautiful lighting and colors during cocktail hour… so for your viewing pleasure, a ridiculous amount of beautiful cocktail hour photos!
Do you recognize the couple directly below? You should – because I’m pretty sure the reason I meet half of the couples I photograph is because of Erin and Sam!
Katie and Kevin were really turning up the volume on the cute during their first dance. You two are adorable!
The below dance picture was my artsy moment of the night. :)

Elise and Kevin! These two are just SO FUN to be around, they are pretty much the best ever. I remember even from the first time we talked, they had me laughing out loud – and they wanted their wedding day to be all bout their loved ones, the moments, and having a good time. Also – FINALLY I have an opportunity to shoot at Calhoun Beach Club! It’s been a running joke in my group of photographer friends, because it’s crazy that as long as I’ve been doing this I haven’t been there yet… and the club didn’t disappoint!
The guys had brunch at COV in Wayzata…
This is Elise writing her letter to Kevin. Something about this image that I just love. A quiet moment I suppose…
The ladies all had monogramed shirts!
Below is the most beautiful lighting, swoon. Love these photos of Elise getting ready!
And now for a sequence of Kevin’s reaction seeing Elise for the first time that day!
Some black and white images of Elise and the kids that I love. Because why not?
10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen and let me tell you – they were champions!
A moment between the mothers after lighting the unity candles. The ceremony was at Wayzata Free Church.
A pit stop on the docks at Wayzata for a few pics!
Elise surprised Kevin with the coolest groomsmen cake (which I believe was made by a friend). His reaction was priceless! They also cut the wedding cake and these are some of my favorite pics, because of all of the guests watching behind them.
We didn’t have the bouquets during our cocktail hour portrait time, so I wanted to make sure we have a few more pics of the bride and groom once we got back to the club. It was WINDY – but they totally rolled with it… the veil pics below are fun!
My 2nd photographer is getting way too good at taking venue pics!
Elise, her father, and Kevin during prayer… (above)
Sheyenne and Kevin!!!!!! Pretty much the sweetest couple ever. I also got to spend the day at the always super classy Semple Mansion. WARNING: cute kid alert. So many cute kid pics at the wedding, I had to restrain myself! :)
I love these pics – adorable flower girls!
Kevin looking very dapper!
The photo on the above-right makes my heart melt. Sheyenne is expecting in just a few months, and I love this first look moment where they are so sweetly looking at the baby bump. :)
Below: Sheyenne looking gorgeous, I love how you can see the detail in the dress…
The below-left pic cracks me up. Let’s face it, the ceremony part can be a little boring for a kid. Ha!
The unity candle was uniting these two sweet families.
REALLY good cupcakes. :)
Before the wedding Kevin emailed me with an idea, where he wanted to be dancing with Sheyenne in the ballroom before guests arrive. Thanks for the idea, Kevin, because the below is one of my favorite images!
A neat tradition, they were given a quilt that can be brought out and used as a place to sit in the years ahead, when they need to reconnect.
Yes – totally intentional that I focused on the tattoo… “We loved with a love that was more than love” (Edgar Allan Poe). :)
Once again, applause for the following team:

Sheyenne and Kevin – a big internet hug to you and the kiddos!
Sarah and Sam were SO excited to get married, it just shows all over the photos. A really really ridiculously good looking couple, beautiful venues, and planner extraordinaire Rita – who is the bees knee’s equals a really fun day for the photographers! They were married at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, which I have driven by a million times but haven’t had the opportunity to photograph until now. SO GORGEOUS! The reception at one of my favorites, the Depot in Minneapolis.
I love this pic of the girls- a great balcony view so we couldn’t resist. I asked them to do their “Real Housewives” pose. :)
The photo on the above-right of the girls… there’s a photo like this circulating on pinterest, but this moment is genuine. Nothing was staged, this emotion is the real deal! :)
Below: Sam’s reaction to seeing Sarah for the first time was perfect.
This church was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Cool architecture on the outside, stained glass balcony access, and an actual art gallery on the inside. There was a concert happening in the art gallery during our portrait time, but they so generously extended the intermission so we could sneak in to get some photographs. THANK YOU THANK YOU – that means the world to us!
Sam giving me his “magnum”….
Sarah is easy on the camera, I had a tough time limiting the photos to blog!
I tasked my assistant with one primary objective – capture a wide shot of the bride and father going down the aisle (because I was at the front photographing them walking toward me). Well done, Karin!
Lots of wide pics of the church. Sorry, couldn’t help myself. :)
Just a *little* excited to be married. :) Recessional photos are my fav!
Working the camera – they do serious well!
I have to give props to this bridal party. We were running a behind, and we had limited time to make these pics happen. This was the quickest set of group photos I’ve done, and they all turned out beautifully. High fives all around – thank you!!!
See that? Yeah, I totally planned to have the date in focus with the rings. *pats herself on back*
