Aaron and Nancy

Aaron and Nancy were referred to me by my friend, Jackie Boldt.  They were married this May on what turned out to be an incredibly windy day, but they are the kind of people who like to have fun and enjoy time with family and friends – so they didn’t let that get in their way!  They were married at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis.  On with the blog!  :)

Having a large bridal party just means that they are well loved!  :)

Gah, Nancy is so pretty.  Aaron I think these need to be printed and displayed at your desk at work… show off to all of the other programmers that you’ve got game.

Stopped at Tuggs before the ceremony for a little skee ball!

One of the best first dances ever!  I don’t need to say anything about why, because the images speak for themselves. :)

Hora dances are so fun to photograph!

Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your day!

Andrea & Mark

Guess what – I’m going to be a blogging machine!  So it’s June, and I am finally getting around to blogging my friends Andrea and Mark, who were marred at The Great Hall in downtown St. Paul.  It ended up being a drizzly, chilly, October day, but they didn’t let that spoil the fun!  One of my favorite memories of this wedding was being super pregnant, dancing “Gangnam Style” with the bridal party.  That’s the kind of people Andrea and Mark are – the kind that welcomed me to be part of the party!

A big shout out to Zoe Blooms for the really unique and beautiful flowers!!!

Shannon and Ron

… and finally, a blog post for my incredibly patient friends Shannon and Ron!  Preparing for the arrival of our baby, and subsequently having a newborn consumed so much time that my blogging has been super behind.  As I’m sitting here with a sleeping baby I finally have just enough time to get this posted.  :)

Shannon and Ron were married at the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel with reception at the Minneapolis Golf Club.  One thing I remember is that while you cannot tell in the photos, it was really chilly outside.  Shannon, Ron, and the bridal party totally toughed it out for photos though – and it paid off.  I love the vibrant orange trees in the background of the bridal party photos.  It complimented the decor of the wedding perfectly.

Throughout the wedding planning, I got to know this couple well.  Shannon and I have very similar taste and can sit and chat about all things clothing, decor, etc. all day.  She’s got impeccable taste, and is very ambitions – lots of the reception decor she designed and hand crafted herself.  (One thing we do NOT have in common – while I can appreciate good design, I’m not crafty myself).

Shannon and Ron –  I cannot thank you enough for everything!

DeAnna and David

DeAnna and David!  This couple is so fun, adventurous, and creative.  I get a kick out of them, both are extremely intelligent people with great senses of humor.  That and, I know I can always count on David for a good conversation about anything Star Wars related. :)  They are big world travelers (I want to live vicariously through them) and had fun elements reflecting this throughout the wedding.  They got ready at the always beautiful St. Paul Hotel, with ceremony and reception at the Minnesota History Center.   DeAnna’s fun dress and the bold colors were so great to see.  Additionally, their Hora dance was one of the most fun things to photograph of the year (you’ll see what I mean in the photographs).

DeAnna and David, I cannot thank you enough for everything!  Enjoy the show!  :)

Lisa & Colin

I’m so excited to share with you photos from Lisa and Colin’s wedding!!  These two are the NICEST couple, and it was an absolutely gorgeous day.  They were married at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel (this place is starting to feel like home, I love photographing ceremonies here!)  with reception at Interlachen Country Club in Edina.  Many thanks to Rachelle with Style Architects designing such an amazing event for us to photograph.  One of the coolest things – for reception entertainment they had dueling pianos which was a hit!  The floor was packed and it was so fun to watch.  Lisa and Colin (and families and friends) thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your day.  Everything was so wonderful and I’m so thankful to have been a part of it.

  • Kayd Roy - […] When I first saw the bride’s name I had to do a double take – Lisa and I use to competitively dance together in high school. (Seriously, what a small world!) Lisa and Colin had the perfect evening with dueling pianos, a gorgeous reception site and were surrounded by family and friends. For more photos of Lisa and Colin’s wedding visit Betsy Wall’s site.
