Ashley and Kurt had an absolutely GORGEOUS wedding day! They were married at Wayzata Community Church with reception at Minikahda Club. A big thank you to Sally Berry with Mother of the Bride for planning and designing lots of photographer eye candy. I am totally in love with invitation by Paperista.
Clyde (Ashley’s doggie) was pretty much a rockstar. High five, Clyde!
These bridesmaids were so awesome – we had a blast. Let’s just say so much so, where they invited me to indulge in a little champagne action before these photos. :)
LOVE the photo on the right of Ashley’s grandparents. It’s one of my favorite images from the day. So sweet!
Ashley’s father reviewing notes for his toast. A great moment.
The Minikahda Club is one of my favorite venues in town. Props to the staff here, too. They treat the vendors just as well as the guests!
With the timing of the ceremony and cocktail hour, I was wondering if we were going have any natural light for portraits. Lucky us – we caught about minutes of the sunset!
Details, details, details. Impeccably done, Sally!
I had my first Cocoa & Fig Macaroon a few weeks ago. Needless to say I was pretty thrilled we were reunited again!
Virtual high five, Karin, for the photo below.
Congratulations Ashley and Kurt. What an amazing day it was!
Thank you to a great team of vendors who made this all happen:
Ashley & Kurt had a really beautiful rehearsal dinner at one of the coolest and unique venues I’ve photographed at – Skyrock Farm! It was a great evening filled with family, friends, and lots of laughs.
Karl and Anna were married at Prairie Lutheran Church with reception at Bearpath Country Club in Eden Prairie. It was fun to be a part of this day – Karl and I went to college together and were in the same major, so I knew lots of the groomsmen and ushers. It was an absolutely gorgeous day with two wonderful people. Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your wedding. Congratulations you two!
I had such a great time at Elizabeth and Andy’s wedding!!!! Seriously, can I be your BFF? :) I also came out of this wedding with one of my all time craziest stories. The ceremony was at the Basilica, and while we were on our way there my assistant called sounding panicked. She couldn’t find parking and said there was nowhere to photograph outside because “there is a major protest going on here.” Elizabeth heard the conversation and said, “oh no – it’s a small prayer group that we are aware of. We know about it and they’ll be done in time.” Well, we show up and there are a couple hundred + people on the steps with signs protesting!! Elizabeth handled it like a champ. Somehow, within a half an hour the entire group was gone and we were able to proceed as normal. It was a great day with two of the nicest people ever. Enjoy the pics!
It was rainy day, but these two were totally willing to power though it and get some portraits outside!
Andy is a bit of a nerd. And know that when I use that term, it’s a term of endearment. The grand march was to the Star Trek theme and there was definitely a “live long and prosper” moment during the toasts. I had the biggest smile on my face!
Congratulations you two – thank you so much for a great day!

I was so happy to be a part of Melissa and Gustavo’s St. Paul Cathedral and St. Paul Hotel wedding. While they met in school in Iowa, Gustavo is from Brazil. Now that they have tied the knot, they can finally always be together! I loved how elegantly styled this wedding day was, it was perfect for the classic downtown St. Paul setting. Enjoy!
I couldn’t get enough Melissa portrait time – she was such a beautiful bride!
The Cathedral photographs so beautifully.
Very special – Melissa’s brother was the priest for the wedding.
The sun was almost down by the time we had everyone together, but we managed to pull off some beautiful natural light images before it was completely dark out!
The image below is one of my favorite exposures of the entire year. Gah – such a soft beautiful romantic moment. Shot super wide at 1.2 (the sun was gone) and lit by a street lamp nearby. :) Sometimes having to work within the “make it work” situations, portraits end up being some of the most creative.
And really, we can still rock portraits even after the sun goes down. :)
High fives to La Petite Fleur for some gorgeous flowers.
This wedding had exceptionally guests. There is no shortage of really fun candid moments from the night!
The dance floor was packed from the start and I had just as much photographing as they were busting moves on the dance floor!
Congratulations Melissa & Gustavo!!
